NEW CURBSIDE WASTE RECYCLING PILOT PROGRAM FOR KINGMAN

Kingman Online News Wednesday November 1, 2017

A curbside recycling pilot program has recently begun for the selected areas of Walleck Ranch and Legacy Walleck Ranch subdivisions of central Kingman, scheduled to run until June of 2018.

A new green 90 gallon capacity can with a blue lid has been given to each residence in the selected areas at no charge.

Thursdays are set as pick up days for recyclable waste in the blue lidded cans, while Mondays will be the only trash pick up days for other waste in the older green lidded cans.

Residents are encouraged to recycle plastics, aluminum cans, tin cans, cardboard, newspapers, magazines, junk mail, catalogues, and cereal boxes.

Waste on the do-not-recycle list includes styrofoam, motor oil containers, paint cans, wood and rubber products, construction and yard waste, gas cans, batteries, tires, and glass of any kind.

An evaluation will be ongoing, and the program may be terminated at any time before completion, depending on participation, levels of contamination involved, and commodity markets.
